Bukit Karmel Children's Home (BKCH) longs to see babies being cared for by their mothers, however, for single mums in Indonesia this is often not a possibility. There is little to no support for these mothers and she is required to rely on her extended family. Often they are unwilling or unable to help and sometimes there is no extended family.
It is wonderful that there is hope for these children at BKCH where they are loved until their mothers are more able to do so. If necessary, Bukit Karmel is committed to loving and caring for these children until they have finished their schooling. The children are provided with a loving, safe home and a good education with the view to seing them grow to become productive, useful and upright citizens in Indonesia with the potential to have positive influence in this country.
We also work to rehabilitiate the single mothers by teaching various skills as well as giving guidance and counslling.
At present there are 32 children being cared for, ranging from newborn to 7 years old.
